Heather Hornberger: Peace By Pieces

A new exhibit will be coming to the virtual gallery space at Mulberry Art Studios this November. Peace by Pieces, a collection of dreamy paintings by local artist Heather Hornberger, will open on First Friday, November 6th at www.mulberryartstudios.com/Heather

Peace by Pieces consists of two dozen paintings that are infused with a blend of both calmness and movement that will draw you in immediately, and keep your attention as you follow the dancing swirls of color. What you find on the canvas depends on your own imagination. "I love when people look at my art and tell me what they see" says Heather, "because it’s not one thing, not one finished product with one exact meaning. We all look at the world through our own unique lens, and the finished painting is an expression of what I sense through my own emotional and experiential lens. I like to see where our perspectives overlap and what comes up for you in what I’ve created."

A self taught artist, Heather Hornberger has been making art ever since she was a little girl. She works mostly with acrylic on canvas, but also loves to create mixed media pieces. She finds art to be an incredible outlet, and believes that the act of creating art is more important than the final result. "For me, the most important part of any piece is the process it takes to get to the finished product; giving color to emotion or pattern to thought- to get it all out... that's why I create."

In a time as tumultuous as this, when the world is in desperate need of beauty and tranquility, Heather's artwork is a welcomed escape into a daydream of color and light. Wander through the world of Peace by Pieces this November at www.mulberryartstudios.com/Heather.
