Danielle Rose, an ever-evolving self-taught local artist and oil painter, has brought her latest collection- Into the Wild Yonder- to Mulberry Art Studios for the month of October. This series explores how a new season of life has impacted the artist’s way of seeing the world and interacting with her craft, and will be on exhibit until the end of October.
Lightness and stability.
Experimentation and trust.
Limitations and play.
Entering into marriage and beginning a family changed Danielle’s relationship with her painting practice. Both her style and subject matter have adapted to survive in this new season. “I discovered a new approach to painting even as I shared my studio space with a sleeping infant,” Danielle says.
“This series captures my journey into the wild yonder as a wife and mother and artist.”
Danielle Rose has been a resident at Mulberry Art Studios in Lancaster, PA since 2018. She began painting in college at St. Francis University where she earned her doctorate in physical therapy. After moving to Lancaster, Danielle continued to develop her abilities in oil painting, frequently drawing inspiration from local artists and the unique atmosphere Lancaster offers. She and her husband welcomed their first daughter, Lucy, on New Years Eve, 2022. She continues to delight in her work as a physical therapist and mother, but she still makes time to go to her studio and create.
