dation for Animal Rescue. Guests at the opening were able to cast their votes for the People’s Choice award, and the votes have now been tallied. The winner of the People’s Choice award in the student category is Eloise, painted by 16 year old Jinx Canfield. The winner of the People’s Choice award in the adult category is Jesse, Jen van der Meij’s painting of her childhood pet donkey. 

Judges also selected Best in Show winners in both the student and adult categories. This year’s winners are a talented mother-daughter duo, 11 year old Violet van der Meij and her mother Jen. Jen’s large cat painting, Colonel Sanders, has been named Best in Show in the adult category, and Best in Show in the student category has been awarded to Violet’s adorable watercolor and ink Space Aussie. 

Mulberry’s We Love Our Pets art show is an artistic celebration of our love for our pets that is held each year in memory of Charles Gaul and Milo the pup. This year’s exhibit features 170 pieces of artwork from 122 local artists, and aims to not only honor our furry friends, but also help protect them by raising funds and awareness for a local animal rescue.
