Friends and fans of the late Jeff Kromer, a local artist known for creating artwork that was a fusion between abstract figurative and surrealism, who come out to see his brother Mark's exhibition at Mulberry Art Studios this October, will be treated to three pieces of Jeff's work from Mark's personal collection.
The pieces are done in graphite, the same media in which Mark currently works, and date back to the 90s. These pieces "have had a definite influence on me" says Mark. "It's only three, but the most important to me." The nod from one brother to another is especially meaningful within the setting of this particular art exhibit, as it will be hanging on the walls as Mark gets married in the gallery this October.
Mark Kromer's exhibit, Portraits in Solitude, will open with a First Friday Reception from 5pm-9pm on October 6, and will remain on display throughout the month of October. Jeff Kromer's three graphite drawings will be exhibited alongside this collection.
Jeff Kromer graduated with a BFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design and acquired teacher certification from Millersville University. His work belongs in numerous collections and has been exhibited in the United States and Europe. Jeff Kromer showed his work at Mulberry Art Studios multiple times and was always well received.
He passed away in October 2014 at the age of 45.
