Dale Ziegler: Still Active in His 90s
Some things simply do not age. For Dale Ziegler, one of those things is his passion for art. Now in his 90s, Mr. Ziegler is still a prolific painter- and during the month of September, the public will be treated to a grand display of his watercolors at Mulberry Art Studios in the Louise Gallery and the Mulberry Ballroom. The exhibition opens with a First Friday Reception on September 4th from 5pm until 9pm, and continues throughout the month of September. Mulberry Art Studios hold regular gallery hours on weekdays from 10am until 4pm, and is located in beautiful downtown Lancaster at 19-21 North Mulberry Street.
Dale Ziegler has worked in many media, but watercolor has remained his favorite. Living and painting in Lancaster County, he is known for his interpretations of the surrounding lush farmlands and the local Amish community. He describes himself as a regular artist, painting what he loves and knows best. He works in traditional watercolor maer, a direct approach with luminous, transparent colors.
After three years of army service in WWII, Mr. Ziegler studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art, now the University of the Arts. He then went on to work as a graphic designer and a creative director. Mr. Ziegler’s work has been exhibited for many years in juried shows in New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Illinois. Dale is an award winning, signature member of the PA Watercolor Society, and an honorary life member of both the Baltimore Watercolor Society, and the Philadelphia Water Color Society.
