Burton AulisioNebulae, Galaxies, and Stars; a Snapshot of our Universe

"The Cosmos is such an unexplored dimension, that it incites me to create images beyond what I have experienced living on Planet Earth." -Burton Aulisio

Nebulae , Galaxies, and Stars; a Snapshot of our Universe is the latest body of work to come from “Galactic” artist Burton Aulisio, and will be exhibited at Mulberry Art Studios throughout the month of April. The public is invited to meet the artist and view his out-of-this-world paintings at a First Friday Opening Reception on April 3rd from 5pm until 9pm. The exhibit will also be available during regular gallery hours, on weekdays from 10am until 4pm with evenings and weekends by appointment.

Burton Aulisio employs a conceptual approach when creating his images of the Universe. This approach allows him to investigate the dynamics of earthly landscapes, and manipulate them to create what he envisions as Space Scapes found within our Universe. Rather than creating a factual reality- an illusion is fabricated, that conjures up his imagination to create what he calls Galactic Art. “My work allows me to explore the tantalizing realm of where the finite meets the infinite” Aulisio says. This body of work includes both airbrush as well as aerosol acrylics in its composition. Both mediums offer brilliant color and delicate details to create his other worldly art.

Burton Aulisio was raised during the “Space Race” and was enamored with our desire to explore the great unknown, the cosmos. As space probes, telescopes, and robotic missions became commonplace, Aulisio's imagination soared. He is a self- taught artist who has worked in various mediums to create his space art. He has earned a number of awards from Best of Show- to Best Sci-Fi Art at a number of Space and Science Fiction Conventions within the tri state area including the Philadelphia Science Fiction Convention- Shore Leave- and the Farpoint Convention. Aulisio with his wife Peggy, are residents of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Becky Shiley: We Are All the Light

As we let our light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence actually liberates others.
- Marianne Williamson

The real us is pure love, pure light
- don Miguel Ruiz

Shiley began drawing and painting as a child and has used many different types of mediums as an artist. She loves all art forms including music, poetry and dance and believes that a positive mental attitude is essential.

"My passion for life enables me to enjoy all mankind and creatures" says Shiley.  "My goal with my work is to encourage emotion and thought. My work expresses my feelings about war, hunger, religion, racism, prejudice, our planet and more. Hopefully my work will evoke emotion in you as well."
